First of all.. WOW! This is by far, the most awesome item ever covered from the desk of Awesome.

What you are looking at is a 5 foot by 10 foot lego recreation of the battle at Hoth, from Empire Strikes Back. Created by the extremely taleneted [ Mark Borlase’s ], the entire display consists of nearly 60,000 pieces and has cool features such as 50 real lights and a remote controlled mechanism that deploys troops from the AT-ATs. The entire creation took over 4 years in the making and consumed about $3000 (that’s a lot of white bricks!). This creation won the recent Star Wars building challenge and was featured in the official LEGO Magazine. Mark, you are AMAZING, and seeing this makes me teary..

Here are a couple of pics from the Mark’s flickr page, but there are a ton of SUPER cool pics, so go look at them : [ Mark's Flickr Page ]

The interior of the hoth base, complete with the Millenium Falcon, and X-Wing hanger.

The seriously awesome outside of this includes a snow speeder that is in process of taking out an AT-AT.

Another amazing aspect of this creation is the side view of the mountain that has windows into the medical bay, the command center, and even the hallway that Han strolls down…

Any lego creation is pretty cool, and something of this magnitude is especially amazing, BUT, what makes this truly awesome is the amount of detail all the way down to the footprints in the snow that Luke leaves in the snow running toward the base. (seen in the first pic).

Mark, you are AWESOME!

If your still dreaming of peruvian natives throwing spears, huge ants carrying off bad guys , and the Indiana Jones theme is still ringing in your ears after seeing The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, then get your whip out and get into the action and check out this charming Lego recreation of Indy’s first three adventures.

Like the epic Lego Star Wars games before it, Lego Indiana Jones celebrates the big screen magic by combining fun platforming action for all ages with tongue-in-cheek animated scenes that lampoon the films. Seeing Indy outrun a giant boulder made out of plastic bricks is priceless.

The famous bullwhip is used well, with Indy able to swing across gaps, smash open boxes, yank on levers, drag heavy objects and keep enemies at bay with a satisfying leathery crack.

Other tools come in handy too, such as a shovel for digging up treasure, a mechanic’s wrench for fixing broken Lego machinery and guns that make bad guys explode in a shower of bricks.

The levels are full of tricks and traps that can sometimes only be conquered through co-operative play, so get a friend to jump in and enjoy the adventure with you.

A few minor technical niggles don’t detract from what is stellar entertainment.

Oh, and I almost forgot … here is a cheat code being given out by the fine folks at gamestop …

If you want to unlock the character Mola Ram use this code FJUR31

In case you forgot who Mola Ram is…

I am sorry but the design is not Phillip Torrone’s. Alex from Nicjasno.com made the engine. The picture even has Nicjasno.com’s watermark on it.

One guy, Ivan, from the Nicjasno.com’s forum has made a motor that runs 3500 RPMs
