Tim Berners-Lee starts new foundation. EU probing the Google-Yahoo deal. iPOD apps store getting flak. Big deal. Crappy Microsoft ads getting some good PR. Spammer released over First Amendment rights. DRM crappy on Spore so people are stealing DRN-free version. Some are shocked that employers check Facebook. Of course they do. HP doing its own Linux. Windows 7 beta due within 8 Weeks. EBay having issues.

IBM thinks "cloud computing" is a bogus concept that is useless. IBM also working on voice-based web while working on a new chip consortium. No browser for Yahoo. Why didn’t they buy Netscape way back when? History would have been different. Google search share up to 71-percent. Google only track for nine months now. Text messages over-priced. Everyone is jacked up about iTunes8 and Spore. France Telecom may do an e-Reader.

More analysis of Apple iPOD, RIM counters with Blackberry assault. Virgin Atlantic announced 3G handset. nVidia under assault with shareholder lawsuit. Google going to link the world to satellite ISP. This is not a new idea. DTV switch-over craps out as predicted. 911 will access cam phone. Yahoo skidding. Microsoft may buy Citrix while selling Greenfield. New York Times asks, "Who uses AOL? And Why?"

Apple rolls new iPods, thin is in. Nothing seriously hot. People still concerned about Jobs’ health. Microsoft has new Zune which can order music from songs you hear on the radio. Huh? Collider fires tomorrow. Google rethinks privacy policy. Finally! Google to digitize old newspapers. Will make them all searchable. GM Volt photos accidentally released. I think it may be a publicity stunt. Real Network gets ink for old idea. Why? Sony  24.6-megapixel full frame sensor camera. Wow. Michael buys $100 million of own stock. HP breaks the 24-hour battery life laptop.

Intel taking halogen out of the process for the good of the earth. Yeah, right. Company also doing a solid-state drive. Seinfeld-Gates ads getting bad press with various puns. Comcast tells FCC to pound salt. Sony VAIO 440,000 machine recall. Yikes. New Tivo to have a terabyte. Yay. Hard disks down to $189 for a terabyte. Michael on Facebook. Better than a blog? Or no? The little Dell laptop is out for $349. Huge patch Tuesday coming next week. CNBC doing a deal with LinkedIn and we can now expect content on LinkedIn. Chrome has weird security issue. Beware.

Will Chrome lead to Google Linux?

Googlers gah-gah over the Google Chrome browser. Will Microsoft be affected? I think not. Chrome is more of a competitor to Safari than anything else. I think it leads to the Google OS. Dell bringing out a ultralite notebook. WiMAX rolling in Baltimore. 802.11n still in draft mode? Why? GUN now 25 years old. Picassa to add face recognition. New iPods on Sept. 9? Looks like it.
