During the summer, at least, I like to try and make it to a new movie each week since there are usually several good ones being released …
This week, we can look forward to, or dread as the case may be :
Kung Fu Panda
Anything with Jack Black gets a few points from me, but given the quality of cartoons and animated movies these days, this one seems to be a step backwards.
Will I see it ? No, not in the theater anyway, this is a DVD movie at best.
Don’t Mess with the Zohan
I like Adam Sandler, I really do, but this movie just looks really really horrible. Generally with a movie like this, all of the really funny parts are in the trailer, and when watching the trailer I just kept waiting for something funny…
I guess I missed the humor in an Israeli special ops guys having sex with a early 60’s grandmother in the bathroom of a hair salon…
Will I see it? NO. In fact.. Hell NO!
Mongol
Mongol is an Oscar-nominated historical epic directed by Russian filmmaker [ Sergei Bodrov ] (Nomad). The film chronicles the early life of Genghis Khan, who was a slave before going on to conquer half the world in 1206.
I am not a huge foreign films fan, but this one looks pretty incredible and I will likely check it out, if for no other reason then I am very interested in Genghis Khan, and love a good historical epic.

Will I see it? Yeah, I think this one is theater worthy, and I would love to see stronger, more epic movies coming into the US.
