I don’t join the [ ever growing mass of Cally haters ]. While I think her character was always a little weak, and that she wasn’t really a major part of the series, she represented something that I thought was missing with a lot of the BSG crew. For one, she was loyal to Chief Tyrol – physically, emotionally, even spiritually. A lot of the other characters on the show bounce from one connection to another. Baltar and Starbuck being the extreme examples of that. Cally always stuck with Chief, from the very first episode when it was made clear that she had a thing for him. Back then, he was with Boomer. I think, personally, that when Cally “Jack Rubied” her that it was largely in part because of the Boomer’s betrayal of someone she cared deeply for, Chief. I don’t think it had anything to do with Adama, or even the fact that Boomer was a cylon. It was simply a reaction to Chief being hurt by her.

I also think, that she always represented the fresh start that the humans where reaching for. She was the first “known character” to produce a child, that we were supposed to think wasn’t a Hylon (human/cylon).

Lastly, I like Nicki Clyne. She is very cute, and an excellent actress, and I for one will miss her on the show.

So color this geek… sad.

Last night I went and saw [ Bear McCreary ] play at The Roxy. Words can not explain how cool it was…. so here are some pictures.

These were taken with my iPhone so I apologize for the less then perfect quality.

James Callis MC’d the event and smiled at me when I asked him to bless my baby…

Bear ended up right in front of me working his mixer board and orchestrating the band… he got this look of sheer enjoyment on his face when the music would rise and fall at his command.. it was so cool watching him.

I got a nice little note from the DMV indicating that my plates have arrived, and can be picked up at my convenience at my local DMV office.  YAY!

Of course, I was foolish enough to think that I could walk in this afternoon and just pick them up. … Ugh.. 1 hour wait, which I didn’t have time to wait for, so I left … empty handed.

So close, yet so far away.

So I  made an appointment for next Thursday (soonest possible) and will post some pics up for everyone to be jealous over.

I don’t consider myself a “blogger”… I mean, I have a blog.  In fact, I have three… but none of them are money makers, or what I consider a job, or even a responsibility.  So when I read this article, I thought.. wow, these people need real jobs…

[ Blogging as fast as we can ]

For the record, I was not laughing because they had heart attacks, but because they blamed it on blogging.

First of all, anyone who refuses to take care of themselves properly and overworks themselves is in danger of dying of a heart attack.  Sometimes, when I am finishing my fourth Larger Americano with two add shots, and shoving down the quarter pounder with cheese, I wonder if  I will make it to 40… That has nothing to do with my blogging habits.  It has to do with the fact that I am too lazy to get up early enough to make myself a healthy lunch and live on convenience.  However, that being said, I can see how the argument could be made that since most of the bloggers are “self-employed” that they likely have no health insurance and so any health problems would likely be a major issue…

But anyway… the moral .. drinks lots of water, exercise regularly and eat a healthy diet, and regardless of what you do for a living you will have better health.

Ahhh… the premier… first new content for Battlestar Galactica in over a year. AMAZING…

Words just don’t seem to do this episode justice.  However, 2 and a half hours worth of words, replete with the Awesome GWC crew, as well we as the extremely cool set of geeks from the GWC forums, and to top off the awesome cake… A collection of Writers from BSG, 4400, Star Trek, and several other scifi shows, including Chase Masterson…

I was a fan of the pilot episode that aired earlier this year, unlike some that I know.  I thought it was a fun continuation to a story that I dearly remember from my childhood, before David Hasselhoff got weird and started posing naked with small puppies…

I remember that someone recorded over the last part of the series finale when I was a kid and it wasn’t until years later did I finally get to see how it ends…

Now, we get to see Michael Knights son take the reigns of a new KITT and continue on in the struggle for justice where no justice can be found..
